PAINTING THE LANDSCAPE OF TUSCANY
7 Day Painting Workshop in the Chianti hills of Tuscany

Ideally situated in the hamlet of Vagliagli, this seven day workshop will be presented at the Dievole Chianti classico Winery offering breathtaking views of the northern Italian Countryside. Villa Dievole is set in tranquil surroundings, nestled in the beautiful Tuscan hills. Cypress and olive trees, far-reaching vineyards, hidden villages and magnificent medieval buildings dominate the landscape providing inspirational subject matter for the workshop being given by Ellen Diamond.
Color is the element that plays the most important role in her works. She states, “Color uplifts ones spirit and transports us into a mood of serenity or excitement. My passion finds its expression in the effect of shifting light, a vibrant palette and spontaneous directness of brushwork”
The workshop will focus on the challenge of simplifying the chaos of the outdoor subject, and capturing the fleeting light and shadow patterns. Ellen will demonstrate her painterly approach and you will see how her use of color excites the eye and helps you to see a more colorful world which in turn creates an emotional response to her work. You will learn the secrets of eliciting the effect you desire in your own work. Individualized and personalized instruction as well as individual and group critiques will take place throughout the week
